I never cease to be amazed at the uses people put our products to. Recently we sent six sets of Camos rear-view cameras to America. They were ordered by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company who operate trains all over the mid-western states. My curiousity being insatiable, I sent an e-mail to our contact who replied as follows:
We were looking for a color camera system to install in our Intermodal Cranes to aid our operators in avoiding obstacles. Intermodal Cranes load trailers and containers on railcars for shipment. Our cranes are Rubber tire gantry cranes that travel in confined areas where trucks and cars also travel. The cameras were replacements for a black and white cameral system that would wash out in sunlight and have no light in evening conditions (basicly unusable). The cranes move in all directions so several cameras with separate monitors were needed to capture all aspects. The monitors needed to be small enough with good resolution in all light conditions to fit in a small cab. The cameras face outward from the rubber tires on the crane in the picture below. Our telecommunications consultant recommended your camera as the best cost solution to our problem, so we purchased enough to outfit 2 cranes. We installed them and they worked great.
So: Camos rear-view cameras, as recommended by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company
